How to Learn Guitar (In Just 10 Minutes a Day)

Very frequently I hear people say, “I don’t have time to practice.”

When I hear that, it translates into “I don’t make practice a priority.”

Or, “Guitar isn’t that important to me.”

And you know what, that’s fine. If guitar isn’t important or not a priority, I understand. I don’t begrudge anyone for that.

And yet, you don’t have to practice for 3 hours a day to get better.

You don’t have to practice for even 1 hour a day to get better.

You can get better in 10 minutes a day, or even less, if you have the right strategy and the right expectations.

With 10 minutes a day, every day, you can improve in any of these areas:

  • Songs
  • Riffs
  • Scales
  • Improvisation
  • Songwriting
  • Music theory
  • Technique

Are you going to get better at all of them? No.

Are you going to become a world class face melting virtuoso? No. (Only the most obsessed, err, committed, will get to that level.)

But if you commit yourself to 10 minutes every day and you use the right strategy, you can improve.

10 minutes a day, every day, beats 2 hours on Saturday every time.
